Principals Welcome,
Thank you for visiting our website and showing interest in Ridgewood Middle School. Ridgewood is a true neighborhood school that has served the Southern Hills community for nearly 50 years. The school continues to show test score gains each school year. Ridgewood was recently identified as a “Top Gains” school by the state department of education.
Ridgewood is one of the most technologically advanced schools in the district. Currently the school has mac book laptop carts available in all English/Language Arts classes. Additionally the school has 7 ipad carts for student use in Math, Science and Social Studies classes. The school also has five computer labs for student use as well. All students also will have the opportunity to take part in the school’s robotics program.
Ridgewood also offers an array of educational programs and extra-curricular opportunities as well as a championship athletic program for all boys and girls.

Our Philosophy
Ridgewood is dedicated to providing students with a well-rounded middle school experience by offering a variety of elective courses to meet the interests of our student population, including; music, art, foreign language, and robotics. Technology is implemented into all classes with Smart Boards, projectors, iPad labs, Mac Book labs and computer labs. RMS also has many extracurricular activities ranging from sports and spirit teams to FCA and yearbook.
Our History
Ridgewood Middle School is a neighborhood school located in southwest Shreveport. Built in 1965, it represents the ethnic, economic, and cultural mix that now defines our city's diverse population. Educating the whole child through curricular and extracurricular activities is our main function.
